Cutting Project, January 2026
This cutting project was the very first serious project at school that is outcome driven. It was an intense month required to work out cutting and patterning skills and make at least 4 toiles in that time. I learned a lot. As always, my work is influenced by my research and my main starting points are food and imperfections (learn more about me) .
I looked into flowers, creases and artists like Cy twombly. It greatly influenced my project and i ended making garments that are imperfect but in a intended way that looked beautiful, or at least interesting.
No sew project , march 2026
When I first heard that we weren’t allowed to sew for this project i was very much intrigued. The binding method was then going to center my research and influence it and not the other way around.
Naturally, i tought about all the food packaging types and deepened my research on that topic. It then influenced my design process.
I started liking the idea of going into the trompe l’oeil’s world and combined the restriction of not sewing, the packaging processes and the ocptical illusions together. Then came the idea of the fake seam in addition of a fake tape like the tape used in food packaging.
Denim manipulation project, may 2026
This project was taken into a textile based research. I looked deep into what denim means to me and what it means to society and how I would translate that in my 2 week project. It would be obvious already within the start that it was going to be very textured and work with multiple mediums together and work with denim and not just work denim.
Denim meant to me that imperfections is what makes something beautiful and gives it personality. My fine art work helped influence my design process. I was working with paper at the time and how ripped paper or broken paper looked beautiful to my eye. This then led me to work with paper with the denim as the point was to show imperfections.
I finally cut hundreds of little tulips on that thin paper and worked with it to attach it to the scarf I decided to make considering the time frame possible.
It was in a way a poetic and reflection project in the sense that it questionned my design process and the messages I want to put out in my work and how to translate them into visual research and art. The scarf isn’t the outcome, the research, the reflections and the poems written are.
